Fees & Engagements

Clear fees. Defined before we begin.

The cost of working with SAS Financial Advisors depends on the services provided and the nature and complexity of each engagement. Fees are discussed and agreed upon before entering into an advisory agreement.

Financial Planning

Financial planning fee options.

Financial planning fees may be structured in one of the following ways, based on the scope of services and mutual agreement between SAS and the client.

Option 01

Retainer Fee

SAS may offer an ongoing retainer arrangement based on the scope and complexity of the engagement. The retainer may include continued development and updating of the financial plan. Factors considered may include the complexity of the client's circumstances, anticipated time involved, services provided, and the nature and frequency of ongoing planning and reporting.

Option 02

Fixed Fee

Fixed financial planning fees typically range from $3,500 to $7,000, with many engagements priced around $4,000 when additional complexity, such as company equity compensation, is not involved.

The final fee depends on the nature and complexity of the engagement and is agreed upon in advance. Unless otherwise agreed, 50% of the negotiated fee is due following execution of the agreement and the initial financial planning meeting, with the remaining 50% due upon completion of the advisory service.

Option 03

Hourly Planning

Hourly financial planning engagements may be available in limited circumstances. SAS generally recommends a more comprehensive planning engagement when appropriate because it allows financial decisions to be considered within the context of the client's broader financial picture.

Investment Management

Asset-based advisory fees.

Individual Portfolio Management fees are generally charged as a percentage of assets under management according to the following schedule.

Billing

How investment management fees are assessed.

Investment management fees are invoiced in arrears at the end of each calendar quarter and are based on the value of the client's account at quarter-end. Fees may be deducted directly from the account in accordance with the client's authorization and applicable advisory agreement.

Fee arrangements and services may vary depending on the scope of the advisory relationship. Please refer to SAS Financial Advisors' applicable advisory agreement and disclosure documents for additional information regarding fees and services.
